As a child, I wanted to be many things — teacher, police, maybe even an actress for a while. The truth is, I never had just one clear answer when people asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
What I did know was that I loved talking to strangers. Since I was little, I could sit for hours listening to people share their stories, almost like I was watching a film or hearing a fairy tale. That’s when I realised: why not make this part of my life? That’s how I found my way into Management Assistance and Tourist Accommodation Management — a world where I get to meet people, hear their stories, and sometimes even help turn a stressful moment into a happy one.
Of course, before all that, I was busy working in agriculture. Growing up in the countryside meant long days harvesting fruit and being surrounded by nature. It wasn’t customer service, but it taught me something important: there’s nothing better than enjoying your work (and not having to carry a box of avocados heavier than yourself every day!).
Now, combining those lessons, I’ve discovered that what I really love is making people feel welcome, comfortable, and maybe even a little bit happier than when they arrived.
